My journal primarily focuses on my recovery from addiction and mental illness. I'm in a psychiatric rehabilitation day program, therapy, taking meds, going to support groups, and working the Twelve Steps of AA. Right now, I'm looking into alternative treatments rather than relying solely on the current psychiatric model. I've been diagnosed with Anorexia Nervosa (binge/purge subtype), rapid cycling Bipolar Disorder, OCD, PTSD, and some sort of dissociative disorder. I've also been labeled Borderline, but I don't believe I have it. I also struggle with self-injury and substance/alcohol abuse.
Any content in my journal that may be potentially triggering is placed behind a cut.
So a little bit about me...I'm more than my disease. I am a freelance artist, a distance runner, and most importantly, a student of life. My major in college is Psychology w/ a minor in Neuroscience. I love coffee, reading, going to the park, taking drives, and listening to indie and electronica music. I am an eclectic pagan, interested in all spiritual paths and esoteric studies. I connect the most with nature. Politically, I am socially liberal and slightly economically conservative.
